Lip Augmentation

Hyaluronic acid therapy has become a well-known and highly demanded choice among aesthetic treatments as it is a safe, non surgical procedure appropriate in softening the face contours and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a product composed out of the natural substance of the organism’s connective tissues. It is usually found in the skin, bone cartilage, tendons, aortic wall, umbilical cord, etc. Thus hyaluronic acid is not a dangerous substance for infections, local inflammations or granuloma formations. One advantage of this treatment is that there is no need to test it on the skin before using it. Small amounts of hyaluronic acid are injected via very thin needles to stimulate the increase in production of hyaluronic acid by the skin itself. Depending on the wrinkles to be treated, the procedure lasts from 20 minutes to one hour and the discomfort it causes to the patient is minimal.

Where is the hyaluronic acid injected?

Hyaluronic acid is used as skin filling to reduce the skin damages due to scars, wounds, or wrinkles. The wrinkles and other face damages corrected via injection of hyaluronic acid include:

– Lip augmentation;

– Redefinition of lip contours;

– Vertical wrinkles formed on the lips (perioral wrinkles) in smokers;

– Wrinkles formed on the lip corners (oral wrinkles);

– Forehead wrinkles, positioned throughout the forehead;

– Wrinkles formed on the eye corners (periorbital wrinkles);

– Laugh wrinkles starting at the nose sides up to the mouth corner (nasolabial wrinkles);

– Irritated cheeks;

– Wrinkles formed between the eyebrows;

– Acne scars;

– Face scars.

How long does the hyaluronic acid injection last?

Hyaluronic acid implant is not permanent. Like the natural hyaluronic acid, the fabricated hyaluronic acid is gradually absorbed by the body as soon as it is injected in the skin. In some cases the injection lasts from five days to nine months. In order to preserve the initial result, it is recommended to repeat the treatment one up to two times per year.
